Cacao and Cardamom Visit (Optional)

Take your taste buds on an exotic adventure with the incredible artistic creations of Annie Rupani, chocolatier and owner of the luxury chocolate shop Cacao & Cardamom. Drawing on her South Asian background, Annie combines spices and exotic flavors such as cardamom, rose, coconut, curry, mango, guava and tamarind into her beautiful artistic creations. Join us for an afternoon happy hour of Chocolate and Wine pairings coupled with a private kitchen tour of the chocolate making process.

This event provides attendants with a broad overview of chocolate, its history, different origins, processes and appreciation of fine chocolate pairings with wines. You will taste cocoa beans, chocolate from different regions, and gourmet truffles paired with different types of wines (white, red, and sparkling) for a total of 5 pairings as you leisurely mingle with fellow LOEX attendees. Small groups will take turns touring the kitchen during the happy hour event.

Group Visit Information

  • Group rate is $40/person; tickets are to be purchased at the shop as group arrives by each individual.
    • Attendees can walk with a group from the Royal Sonesta hotel lobby that will meet at 1:30pm to make the ten minute walk over, or meet directly at Cardamom and Cacao by 2pm. Other transportation options include taxi, Uber or Lyft.

1:30 - 3:30 pm tasting Meet group in the hotel lobby by 1:30pm; Arrive at chocolate shop by 1:45pm; Tasting & kitchen tour starts at 2:00pm.

This tasting is designed for LOEX attendees. Only if there is space, day of, can we consider including any non-LOEX guests of LOEX attendees.
