Pre-conference open house and presentation: Designing Library Spaces with a Focus on Information Literacy
Designing Library Spaces with a Focus on Information Literacy, a pre-conference open house and presentation for LOEX attendees will be held on Thursday, May 1, from 2:30-4:00 p.m. at the A.C. Buehler Library at . Andy Joseph, Wight & Co. architect of the library’s 2002 renovation will present the process and ideas that led to the library's Information Literacy-focused library design. The formal presentation will begin at 3:00 pm. This open house is free, and all LOEX attendees are invited. The A.C. Buehler Library is approximately 5 miles away (roughly a 10 minute drive) from the Doubletree. The address of the Elmhurst College campus is 190 Prospect Avenue, Elmhurst, Illinois. Limited transportation from the Doubletree will be provided. We can accommodate approximately 25 people total in 2 shuttle bus trips, on a first come, first served basis. There is also limited parking on campus for those with their own cars who wish to drive. The first shuttle trip will leave from the Doubletree at 2:00 pm, the second at 2:20 (approximately). Two shuttle trips will return to the Doubletree at 4:15 and 4:40 (approximately). Conference attendees who wish to ride in the shuttles should arrive at the conference information desk before 2pm for the first shuttle, and by 2:10 for the second. There is no need to RSVP, but keep in mind our space on the shuttles is limited. There will be driving directions and Google maps available for those who are driving their own cars.
